Young Faces Smiling

Young Faces Smiling has made significant strides by providing academic enrichment and career exposure opportunities to at-risk youth along with increasing attendance rates, graduation rates, college enrollment and employment rates for students. YFS have completed our tenth year of operations; we will self-publish a book discussing the enrichment programs development and growth, and the impact of hundreds of celebrity involvements in our ‘Reality Classroom Adventures’.

Real People. Real Things. Real Facts.

Young Faces Smiling is changing the way our youth are educated by making learning fun, interesting and most of all reality by giving students an opportunity to experience a 'Reality Education' curriculum. Sometimes, it only takes one person to change the life of another and students are destined to have a memorable experience.

Accomplishments

Young Faces Smiling would like to highlight our major accomplishments, the most significant to date, is the self publication of our book Young Faces Smiling: Changing Lives, which is an autobiographical account of the evolution of Young Faces Smiling written by Ms. McClarty.

Young Faces Smiling has served over 3000 students and has motivated, impacted and shaped their lives in immeasurable ways. To better serve our students with real life interaction, career awareness and engagement with celebrities, entrepreneurs and public figures, YFS has conducted 350 one-to-one interviews and created over 90 celebrity education videos, many of which are available on YouTube. The enrichment program has taken students on 30 plus classroom adventures, consisting of visits to the workplace such as the TV studios of Katie Couric Talk Show, The View, Dr. Oz Talk Show, Harry Connick, Jr. Talk Show as well as attending celebrity events, plays and much more. YFS has hosted 20 in-school visits with celebrities and entrepreneurs through an organized assembly.

Young Faces Smiling was featured on Reality Obsessed TV show season one, episode 7 in Canada. This experience assisted in the planning of one of our goals to establish a 'Reality Education' television show; to this end YFS has begun this journey by taking classes at Manhattan Neighborhood Cable Network with plans to launch a show soon.

Jim Jones: The Educator

Who say only teachers can teach? Mr. Jim Jones was in a NYC Classroom helping to educate students about the music business in a class called 'Music Business 101'. He did a wonderful job and taught them about the business of hip-hop music. He demonstrated a million-dollar record deal/budget and gave  students several reality teaching lesson and projects to complete.
